Dr. Oren Plous is a board certified, fellowship trained Ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical management of diseases in the posterior segment of the eye. What does this mean to you? It means Dr. Plous has not only received his degree in Ophthalmology, but has also trained extensively during his Retina fellowship. He knows that many times, seeing a qualified Ophthalmologist cannot wait for an appointment day. That’s why Dr. Plous has made himself available to you for retinal emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in Venice or Sarasota. Education is important to you, because it’s what qualifies Dr. Plous to perform delicate procedures on your eyes. Dr. Plous earned his Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree from the University of Michigan and his Medical Degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in Ophthalmology at the Kresge Eye Institute and a fellowship in vitreoretinal medicine and surgery at the University of Kentucky. It’s nice to know he is expertly educated in his field.

Dr. Plous is also a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida. He has participated in and continues to conduct numerous clinical and scientific trials. Experience you can trust.
